Modern Marketing can often mean different things to different people. One thing is clear, the marketing team of today is very different from how it used to be. It is now about two types of persona: part-scientist and part-creative – if you put those two together, that’s when you get a stronger team.
The Modern Marketer: Part-Scientist, Part-Creative
By part-scientist, this can mean data analytics; also, financial analysts who tie activity to revenue objectives and enjoy performance-related demands; and tech-savvy marketers who understand automation and web production. While part-creative can mean some of the traditional world mixed in with the new world. For example, content marketers who know how to tell a story and can create very accessible written content across owned as well as paid channels.
This webinar will help you not only think about the skills needed in a modern marketing team, but also your own personal development and career strategy. The presentation looks at how you can transform as a marketer, addressing a number of questions you might be asking yourself.
Some questions include:
- When is it “safe” to move more towards strategy and leave the tactical/ hands-on tools behind without jeopardising your value as a marketer to the organisation?
- How do you manage your marketing career in a company that’s very very short term focussed?
- What experience do you need to build to make move from Manager to Director or Head of Marketing Role?
- What technical skills are needed to jump to a director position?
