Oxford College of Marketing takes great pleasure in awarding their Digital Prize to Anna Kennedy and Michaela Skanarova. Here is their story!
I’m a passionate and energetic online B2B
Marketing Professional with over seven years experience in a number of large enterprises. Completing the Diploma in Digital Marketing has helped provide me with the knowledge and skills to successfully develop digital marketing plans focusing on key factors such as implementation, measurement and evaluation.
With these newly acquired skills I was hired by Salesforce.com to manage their email marketing in EMEA which has been a fantastic opportunity to test out my newly acquired skills. I was also planning for a wedding while undertaking my
studies and was married a few weeks after my final assignment submission but with the help and support of my tutor Annemarie Hanlon (Managing Director of Evonomie Ltd), and Oxford College of Marketing I felt I always had the support I needed.
I arrived in the UK in 2006 to learn English in order to progress in my career. Originally, I intended to study English and go back to Slovakia, but decided to stay in the country and build my career over here.
After acquiring the Advanced and Proficiency Certificate in English I decided to pursue my ambition and develop a career in marketing. I found an accounts position that I did not enjoy, so I decided to study for a Beginners Certificate in Marketing as I knew if I wanted to change my life I needed some qualifications. Once finished, I applied for several jobs and in May 2010 I started working for an online agency called Freemaxmedia as an accounts/planning executive.
I enjoy working for an online company , but I knew I would have to study some more, so in order to progress I made the choice to study for the Diploma in Digital Marketing with the Oxford College of Marketing – distance learning.
I am very pleased I decided to do so as I have recently been promoted to a List Manager looking after several clients (list owners), maximising their revenues by looking at the deliverability, appropriate campaigns and strategies according to their performance.
I have finished my studies with 3 As and a great knowledge of digital marketing , confident I can build on this knowledge and develop my career the way I have always wanted to.
I am very glad I chose the Oxford College of Marketing as I was a bit sceptical of studying by myself choosing the distance learning option. I got excellent support from my tutor, Red Barrington (Managing Director of Red Star Digital Ltd) , she has always answered all my questions, advised on the most appropriate literature and articles and marked all my assignments quickly with detailed comments.
All the materials were easy to understand, detailed and interesting and helped me to gain the knowledge and understanding of digital marketing giving me the assurance of having made the right career choice.
