Work Experience within the National Geographic Kids Magazine

We publish National Geographic Kids magazine and i’m currently looking for some work experience students to work within the marketing department.

Roles would include -

-Competition sourcing and administration

-Contacting companies for potential partnerships

-Contacting potential advertisers and creating advertising data bases

-Cover-mount and Toy sourcing

-Press release and newsletter creation

-Getting Press contacts

-Accompanying the marketing manager at meetings.

-Data input

-Competitor analysis

We are happy to take a student on for a longer period or even just a week however it would be unpaid.

8 Week Project for Internet Marketing Student/ Graduate

We are looking for a student or graduate to fill a part time 8 week project to support us in a new venture. Graduates should ideally be London based however this is not essential.

The applicant who is appointed to this position will be required to support the company director in launching a new arm of the business. Responsibilities will include web/social media design and build, input on internet marketing strategy and all other marketing related activity.

We estimate this role to take between a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 hours per week.

Applicants should have;

- A marketing degree or equivalent

- An in depth knowledge and experience of internet marketing strategies

- An in depth knowledge and experience of WordPress blog and website software

- A basic knowledge of SEO

- A strong understanding of social media marketing strategies

The fee for this project is £6.08 p/h. Subject to the success of the project a full-time permanent paid position may be offered on completion of the contract.

Oxford College of Marketing is looking for extra tutors – If you love students, love teaching and love marketing please get in touch with me.

Oxford College of Marketing is looking for tutors to teach on CIM and CAM ( Digital) courses at Oxford, Reading, Uxbridge, High Wycombe, London, Gatwick, Croydon, Brighton, and to support students to do their assignments – must love students, love teaching and love marketing – and be suitably qualified – must also have marketing experience.

In the last exams we achieved an 87% pass rate with 50% AB grades. So you also need to be a fanatic about professional standards and helping students to get the best out of themselves.

We are also now working with students in Bournemouth and Hull, classes will be held using the rooms at Bournemouth University and also at Hull University. Although we will be using existing staff at Bournemouth University it may be helpful to have a few reserves please?

We supply all the materials as we run an online student support system – which means that all tutors get the same material as the students. There are no secrets. Slides, learning material, podcasts and webinars etc and of course video from www.oxlearn.com are all supplied.

We are also creating international relationships – so there could be work there as well.

Title: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Head of Marketing Development
Location: TBI head office, Wheatley

Purpose of the job: to strategically plan and tactically implement marketing activities on behalf of our academic publisher clients.

Key responsibilities:
In conjunction with Directors and other senior staff:
o developing marketing strategies and plans in response to client briefs
• Supporting and managing the day-to-day implementation of marketing strategies on behalf of clients including, but not limited to:
o Client liaison
o Measuring and reporting effectiveness
o Budget management
o Brand management
o Digital marketing
o Communications and public relations
o Campaign management
o Sales support and collateral development
o Market research and analysis
o Real and virtual event management
• Acting as an internal ‘client champion’ helping to ensure the company achieves the highest standards of service delivery appropriate to client needs.

Special tasks:
In conjunction with Directors and other senior staff:
o developing responses to tender documents
• Travel (to visit clients and attend industry events) – approx 20% of your time
o including approx one day per week with clients in London
• Mentoring of junior staff
• Liaison with TBI partners and suppliers

I studied with the Oxford College of Marketing (CIM Diploma in Marketing) a few years ago and I’m going to be leaving my current role at Prodrive on maternity leave in a few months time.
