Job Title: Marketing Executive (Maternity Cover)
Reporting To: Director of Marketing and Membership
Department: Membership & Marketing
Location: Based at STEP Head Office London
Hours of work: 37.5 per week
About STEP
The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is the professional body for the trust and estate profession worldwide. STEP provides education, training, representation and networking for its members, who are professionals specialising in trusts and estates, executorship, administration and related taxes. STEP members (TEPs) provide expert advice on how to comply with the often complex law and tax rules surrounding trusts, estates and inheritance. Full members of STEP are the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field of trusts and estates.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Campaign Management:
-
To co-ordinate and action tasks in the membership development and marketing plans
-
To contribute to the membership development plan including:
- Member and student recruitment and retention campaigns
- To interpret membership recruitment and retention statistics and review member research and make recommendations
- General marketing activity
- Other activity, including cross selling of STEP products and services -
To keep records and produce reports showing the results of recruitment and retention activity, marketing campaigns, member involvement and non-renewals

Manage process for STEP USA members newsletter

Monitor STEP’s student intake to provide analysis for student recruitment campaigns

Work with the STEP training provider to monitor student intake and development of STEP education collaterals

To create and update membership and marketing collaterals and material e.g. letters, new member welcome packs, newsletters, e-news releases, fact sheets, membership directories, member listings, member questionnaires and brochures

To undertake member market research in areas such as member benefit analysis and satisfaction surveys

To respond promptly to inquiries from prospective members, members, executive officers and other industry bodies by phone, email or in writing and follow-up with an agreed timeframe

Liaise with all STEP departments to integrate marketing activities with individual departmental activities

To participate in regular departmental and cross departmental progress meetings

To remain current with STEP policies and procedures

Attend STEP events, committee meetings and functions as and when appropriate

Prepare event marketing campaigns

Media education and booking
-
Such other duties within the jobholder’s capability as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

A graduate with a business or marketing degree
Essential Experience
-
A minimum of seven years marketing experience, preferably with a membership organisation
-
Experience in writing marketing copy and in particular for email
-
Proven experience in development of marketing collateral and print production
-
Demonstrated ability in planning and implementing marketing campaigns
-
Experience in managing marketing campaigns from plan stages to campaign
-
Knowledge of and practical experience for digital marketing techniques, including SEO
Knowledge
-
Excellent knowledge of marketing campaign planning, administration, budgeting, market research and member relationship management skills and techniques

Excellent knowledge and experience of graphic design and print processes
-
Knowledge of and practical experience for digital marketing techniques, including SEO
-
High degree of IT literacy

Ability to successfully undertake a range of concurrent projects on time and to budget
